This means each individual bead is equivalent to a penny, five beads are 5p, a row of 10 beads is 10p and so on! For example, there are 100 beads in total on the abacus. Interestingly, our abacus can also be used to teach a basic understanding of money. Using the abacus also helps to develop fine motor skills. Kids can deepen their ability to recognise colours using the vibrant wooden beads. Life skills – Our wooden abacus teaches a range of valuable and transferable skills. The abacus can be used to teach addition, subtraction and the notion of grouping for multiplication and division.
